Roman Blinds

Roman blinds provide an excellent alternative window treatment. They can be fitted either inside the window recess or on the wall to cover the window. More modern homes with deeper window recesses look at their best with the blind fitted inside the window recess. Older windows with shallow recess or just a wooden frame the  blinds need to be fitted either to the top leading edge of the window frame frame or onto the wall just above the window.

We can provide a complete package of  the fixed header rail, making and fitting or replacing a blind with the existing fittings in place.

All our Roman blinds are fully lined, either with quality crisp cotton lining especially suitable for Roman blinds or 3pass blackout lining. All blinds can be optionally interlined.

The Roman blind featured here is lined and interlined. The window is an original Georgian sash window and has a very shallow frame.  We attached the blind to a traditional wooden  batten at the top of the window surround as there is no window recess.

The fabric is from Morris & Co in Pewter/Gold

Here is an example of a modern UVPC double glazed window with a 'trickle vent' at the top and the opening widow with a very large handle. In order for the blind not to catch on either of these features, we used a fixed header rail with a chain mechanism located close to the front edge of the window recess.

Roman blinds into a corner or a bay window.

This is an example of a difficult to dress window combination, with one very large window and a smaller one to the side.

Roman blinds were perfect here, pattern matching the blinds they run seamlessly around the corner.

We used the traditional wooden batten header rail fixed to the top of the window surround.

The Sanderson fabric is no longer available.

This is a 'London Blind', the style hasn't changed since the Georgian period. Perfect in any setting but most suited to an older building where you want to show any architectural details and add an authentic period look.

The roman blind here is over 2m wide using a metal cartridge cassette header rail
